Leyda is one of Chiles Top- Boutique wineries known and awarded worldwide. Single Vineyard wines are rich and elegant, with expressive and complex flavors and a superb balance. All grapes are born from the best Terroir for each variety and carefully selected from only one block. The grapes were hand-picked and the wine was matured in small French oak barrels for 4 months. Bright and shinny colour. Great expression and fruity nose with a strong red fruit character of strawberries and red cherries, combined with citrus notes and hints of subtle smokiness adding complexity. Fresh and balanced palate, with great concentration of fruit and a sharp acidity that keeps the freshness all through the palate and a long ending.

| O Winnicy | "Viña Leyda was founded in 1997, in San Antonio, place that today is recognized as the last great innovation of the Chilean viticulture. Being pioneers in the Leyda Valley - San Antonio; creating the new Denomination of Origin in May 2002.Traditionally, Leyda Valley has been an area of natural pasture lands and basic crops such as wheat and barley. After evaluating the potential conditions of the area, a crucial investment was made which enabled water to be brought from the Maipo River through an eight kilometer pipeline. Further more, a research of the topographic conditions suggested that Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc vines could grow in very good conditions. For that reason, Leyda started planting those vines in 1998 for a total of 80 hectares By the end of the year 2000, Leyda incorporated high-tech equipments which included a pneumatic press, gentle pumps, temperature controlled systems and a diverse range of stainless steel tanks with capacity from 1,000 liters to 50,000 liters, among others.After three years of development, the first harvest and production were celebrated in 2001. The first wines from Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay grapes grown in the Leyda Valley were bottled. Our first harvest was in year 2002.Actually, Leyda has planted more vines reaching a total of 210 hectares divided into Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah, Riesling, Sauvignon Gris, Gewurztraminer and Cabernet Franc. 90% of Leydas exports are made to more than 27 countries, mainly, North America, Europe and Asia. The remaining 10% stays in Chile. At the beginning of 2007, Viña Leyda was acquired by Viña Tabali, belonging to Guillermo Luksic, establishing Viña Valles de Chile, which its protects ViñaTabali and Viña Leyda's projects. " |
