Sassy, refreshing and uplifting with delicate berry fruits, elegant lees-yeastiness and a fine, creamy mousse. This Mthode Cap Classique Sparkling Wine, full of the stars, is made from grapes harvested at night, under the stars, and nurtured by Nicky Krone of Twee Jonge Gezellen Estate. Krone Ros Brut MCC is biologically stable, a true celebration of the vintners art. Traditional grape varieties (Pinot Noir and Chardonnay) are hand-picked in the cool of the night and in the early mornings at the beginning of the harvest season. Only the free run juice is used for this MCC product the first 500 litres per ton - with Pinot Noir adding a subtle, sophisticated salmon pink hue. Krone Ros Brut MCC is bottle fermented and matures on the lees in underground cellars after which, prior to dgorging, the bottles are packed in wooden pupitres (turning racks) and the rmuage (the turning of the bottles) is done entirely by hand.

O Winnicy "Twee Jonge Gezellen (TJ), in the family since 1710, has always been synonymous with terms like pioneering, ground-breaking ... (Translated, it means Two Young Bachelors or Two Young Companions).Tulbaght, long seen as a ‘pioneer area’, although only 125 km from Cape Town, has recently become a ‘secret find’ for the avant-garde. TJ is in the northwest corner of this intriguing valley, with the vineyards reaching up the east-facing TJ slopes of the Saron Peak mountain whilst the cellar nestles expectantly at the foot thereof. Owner & winemaker, Nicky Krone, calls our towering mountain ‘our rainmaker’ due to the rain-shadow effect which affords TJ a really generous winter rainfall factor. During summer the shadow of this peak moves down the slopes from early afternoon, enveloping the vineyards with a natural ‘parasol’. From spring to mid-summer, when the Cape is tested by the relentless south-easterly wind, the mountain again protects TJ. This wind lifts up and over the peak and, whilst acting as an air-conditioner for the vineyards, it leaves a quiet haven below where not a leaf moves on the oak trees surrounding the cellar - the perfect venue to visit when the rest of the Cape is ‘blown away’. This mountain is more than just terroir ... even the resident Fish Eagles agree ... Emphasis is placed on producing wines for health conscious people and nothing is taken for granted. The grapes are even handpicked in the cool of the night and in the early mornings, a practice originated by Nicky Krone in the early 1980’s. The House of Krone has recently been formed to recognize the significance of Nicky Krone’s contribution to the brand and to differentiate the Krone family’s sparkling wines from its Twee Jonge Gezellen still wines ... after all, a House is not a home without a ‘family’."
